Endeca InFront Awarded Best Infrastructure Application at the 2002 Massachusetts Interactive Media Council (MIMC) Awards

Endeca Recognized for Providing Tower Records with Advanced Search and Guided Navigation to Improve Shopping Experience

Cambridge, Mass., November 6, 2002 Endeca, the only provider of Guided Navigation with advanced search solutions, has been selected as a winner in the category of Infrastructure Application for the 2002 MIMC Awards. Endeca was recognized for providing Tower Records with a search, navigation and merchandising solution that has led to greater customer satisfaction, improved search experience, increased sales and quick ROI. This award, which celebrates New England’s best interactive accomplishments, further exemplifies Endeca’s leadership in the search market.

Realizing the need to improve profitability and top-line revenue, Tower Records was looking for a competitive differentiator that could increase average order size, while making valuable data available to its customers. Endeca InFront, Endeca’s product for commerce and catalogs, gave Tower Records the ability to dynamically merchandise new purchase options while providing customers exposure to "bargains" and sometimes missed "back-catalog" items in its 800,000 different titles. Tower Records first launched Endeca InFront as an optional way for customers to navigate the online video/DVD portion of Tower Records. Based on positive customer feedback and increased sales, Tower Records expanded its use of InFront to include the music and classical sections of its site.2002 MIMC Award
