Peter Bell, Endeca Co-Founder to Discuss New Technology to Get More Value from Existing Metadata

Cambridge, Mass., September 22, 2003 - Endeca, the only provider of Endeca Search and Guided Navigation solutions, today announced that Peter Bell, co-founder of Endeca, will present at the Dublin Core Corporate Circle 2003 Workshop on Metadata and Search. Bell will discuss new technology to derive more value from existing metadata. Held from September 27-28 at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center in Seattle, WA, the workshop will address processes, technology and ROI surrounding using Dublin Core and other metadata standards.

Bell will take an in-depth look at how search technology can be enhanced with the Dublin Core and other metadata standards to unlock the latent value hidden in customers' metadata. Bell will discuss the central technology and ROI questions surrounding how search technology can be metadata-enabled and what that means for customers. Using case study examples, Bell will address how enterprises, e-commerce sites, and government agencies are helping their constituents to more easily find information by exposing their metadata with new faceted search techniques.

The Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (DCMI) is an organization dedicated to promoting the widespread adoption of interoperable metadata standards and developing specialized metadata vocabularies for describing resources that enable more intelligent information discovery systems. Sponsored by DMCI Global Corporate Circle, the metadata workshop will focus on internal or site search technology. There will be presentations by experts, implementation case studies, demonstrations by search technology vendors, and Q&A with experts, practitioners, and vendors.
