CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- November 14, 2006 -- Endeca, a next-generation information access company, today announced 109 percent year-over-year revenue growth in the third quarter. Year-to-date revenue (January through September) is up 104 percent compared with the same nine month period in 2005. Both numbers represent record revenue for Endeca, which continues to be one of the fastest growing companies in the region, and one of the fastest growing software companies in North America.
To support this rapid growth and accelerate the pace of innovation, Endeca has created nearly one hundred new positions between the third quarter 2005 and the third quarter 2006, leading to a 50-plus percent increase in worldwide staff. The company plans to increase its staff by another 25 percent within the first half of 2007.
"It's rewarding when results across all key performance indicators exceed ambitious goals. But even more significant is the string of events that validate our information access vision and point to the rapid emergence of new market opportunities," said Dan Demmer, president and COO of Endeca. "Take for example longstanding Endeca customers like IBM and the US Defence Intelligence Agency, who are now using the Endeca Information Access Platform as the foundation for a new generation of secure, ad hoc reporting and analysis applications. We're also seeing more and more organizations move towards an information access standard to address a wide range of high-value problems across their enterprise. And during the third quarter multiple F500 businesses selected Endeca as that standard."
During the quarter Endeca signed dozens of new customers, complementing significant new business with existing customers, as leading organizations enhanced their current Endeca applications and expanded their use of the Endeca Information Access Platform (IAP) throughout their enterprise. These customers include industry and category leaders like ACP Media Limited (autotrader.co.nz), Amphenol Corporation, Circuit City, the US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), International Paper, McMaster University, Tech Data and Tesco.
