Endeca's chief scientist, researchers to be featured at MIT Human-Computer Interaction and Information Retrieval workshop

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- October 23, 2007 -- Endeca Technologies, Inc., an enterprise information access software company, today announced that its chief scientist, Daniel Tunkelang, and five members of its research and development team, will join academic researchers from MIT, as well as prominent research scientists from IBM (NYSE: IBM) and Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) in one of the first workshops to explore the advances of human-computer interaction (HCI) and information retrieval (IR).

Titled HCIR 2007, this workshop will cover how each discipline has evolved to meet the demands of a digital world rich with vast quantities of information, and will explore intersections between the two related but historically distinct domains. Tunkelang, who also serves as a program committee member for the workshop, and a team of researchers from Endeca will be presenting on topics ranging from information discovery to novel techniques for faceted navigation.
